Budget-Friendly Hotels on the Gold Coast with Ocean Views
- by Filip
The Gold Coast is a stunning destination, known for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and world-class attractions. But, it’s also a place where you can find budget-friendly accommodations that don’t skimp on the essentials, like breathtaking ocean views. During my recent trip to the Gold Coast, I had the pleasure of staying at one such hotel, and I’d like to share my experience with you. I’ll also introduce a few other hotels that offer great value for money and, of course, those coveted ocean views.
My Stay at the Ocean View Motel
The Ocean View Motel, where I stayed, is situated in Labrador, a quieter suburb on the northern end of the Gold Coast. This location was perfect for me because it offered a peaceful retreat away from the bustling tourist hotspots while still being close enough to major attractions. The motel is directly across the road from the beach, providing stunning views of the ocean right from your room. The nearby Broadwater Parklands is a lovely area for a morning walk or an evening stroll, making it an ideal spot for those who appreciate nature and tranquility.
Booking Process:
Booking my stay at the Ocean View Motel was incredibly straightforward. I used an online booking platform, where I was able to compare prices, read reviews, and select my preferred room type. The website was user-friendly, and the confirmation was instant. They also provided me with clear instructions on how to reach the motel, check-in procedures, and contact details for any inquiries.
How to Get There:
Getting to the Ocean View Motel was easy. If you’re driving, there’s ample parking available at the motel, which is a huge plus. For those relying on public transport, several bus routes stop nearby, making it convenient to reach from the Gold Coast Airport or Surfers Paradise. I took the bus from the airport, and the journey was smooth, with the stop just a short walk from the motel.
Environment:
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere. The motel is a small, family-run establishment, and you can feel the personal touch in every aspect of your stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The exterior of the motel is charming, with well-maintained gardens and a quaint, retro vibe that added to its charm.
Facilities:
The rooms at the Ocean View Motel are simple but clean and well-equipped. My room had a large window that offered a panoramic view of the ocean, which was absolutely mesmerizing. The room included all the basic amenities—air conditioning, a mini-fridge, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was spotless, and the shower had excellent water pressure. While the motel doesn’t have a restaurant, there are several eateries within walking distance, and a communal BBQ area is available for guests who prefer to cook their own meals.
Experience:
My stay at the Ocean View Motel was truly enjoyable. Each morning, I woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore and enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise from my room. The peaceful environment made it easy to relax, and I spent my days exploring the nearby attractions, knowing I had a comfortable room to return to each night. The staff went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay, offering local tips and always being available to assist with any requests.
Rating:
Overall, I would rate my experience at the Ocean View Motel a solid 4 out of 5. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it offers excellent value for money, especially considering the prime location and the stunning ocean views. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option on the Gold Coast that doesn’t compromise on the essentials, I highly recommend this motel.
